I Too, We Two!

The MFAH and the Ensemble Theatre Celebrate Black History Month 2021

Virtual experiences—dance, music, spoken-word performances, interviews, and more—pay homage to the African American artists whose work is on view in the Museum’s Nancy and Rich Kinder Building. The title “I Too, We Two!” acknowledges the collaborative spirit between the Ensemble Theatre and the MFAH and also references the Ensemble Theatre’s virtual production I, Too, Am America.

My Journey with Flamenco

The MFAH and Solero Flamenco Celebrate Glory of Spain

See the varied styles of flamenco, a form of Spanish song and dance based on the music traditions of southern Spain from the 9th to 14th centuries. These videos feature Ana María Barceló and the founders of Houston flamenco performance company Solero Flamenco: Jeremías García and Irma La Paloma. The exhibition Glory of Spain: Treasures from the Hispanic Society Museum & Library provides the inspiration.
