Florescence
“Splendor”

Florescence is a biennial flower and horticulture show presented by The Garden Club of Houston, the River Oaks Garden Club, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. It is one of the largest competitive national flower shows sanctioned by The Garden Club of America in the United States. The public exhibition features floral and horticultural arrangements from garden club experts, prominent floral and garden designers, and noted personalities interpreting masterpieces in the Museum’s art collections. Latin American Experience Gala and Auction

Join us in celebrating the Museum’s Latin American Art Department and its research institute, the International Center for the Arts of the Americas (ICAA). The 2024 Latin American Experience highlights the new Latin American art galleries housed in the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, showcasing the growth of the department since its inception. This biennial event includes dinner, music, and dancing and features a live and silent auction of Latin American works of art.

This biennial gala provides support for accessions to the MFAH collection of Art of the Islamic Worlds, one of the largest permanent displays of its kind in the United States. Culminating a 15-year initiative, the 2023 gala commemorates the opening of the new Art of the Islamic Worlds galleries in the Caroline Wiess Law Building.
