Julia Reichert: 50 Years in Film

Women’s History Month in March provides the perfect occasion to celebrate Julia Reichert, one of America’s most accomplished independent documentarians. A four-time Oscar nominee, Reichert has dedicated her career to capturing stories exploring class, gender, and race in America. This nationally touring retrospective begins with Growing Up Female, her 1971 feature documentary debut made with Jim Klein. The series continues to her Academy Award–winning 2019 documentary American Factory, codirected with Steve Bognar.

Film descriptions are from the commemorative publication “Julia Reichert: 50 Years in Film,” published by the Wexner Center for the Arts at the Ohio State University. Complimentary copies of the booklet are available at the screenings, while supplies last.
