Saturday Members Tour | New Contemporary Art Installations in the Kinder Building
October 2023
MFAH members are invited to explore the Museum’s art collections and exhibitions on special Saturday tours. Topics change monthly.
In October, docents lead tours exploring three new installations of contemporary art on the third floor of the Kinder Building. Comprising works from the MFAH collections, the installations address environmental, social, and political themes.
- Contested Landscapes reexamines the traditional genre of landscape through an ecological lens.
- Hidden Histories memorializes ordinary citizens and places that have been ignored, sidelined, or deliberately obscured.
- Love Languages considers how the making of art is a type of love language all in itself.
