Virtual Discussion | History Book Club “Craft: An American History”
Look to the MFAH for good books and great conversations! The History Book Club presents free discussions about literature and art, and you’re invited. These talks focus on books about life in Europe and America during the 18th and 19th centuries, inspired by the collections of the two MFAH house museums: Bayou Bend and Rienzi.
The book selection for November is Craft: An American History by Glenn Adamson. Publishers Weekly states this book “Historian Shawcross’s impressive debut recounts a significant yet overlooked chapter in the 19th-century struggle over “who would govern the Americas, and how they would be governed.”
