Virtual Camp at Bayou Bend: Where Art & History Inspire July 8, 2020

Summer is here, and that means it’s time for camp, kids! Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, the MFAH house museum for American decorative arts, presents Virtual Camp at Bayou Bend. Campers can enjoy at-home adventures in art, history, and gardening for free during the weeks of July 20–24 and July 27–31. Recommended for ages 9 to 12.

Drawing from the renowned collection of early Americana at Bayou Bend, the curriculum for this virtual summer camp will inspire young artists, historians, and scholars. Activities range from exploring trees to topics like pottery, memory games, photography, needlepoint, music, and more. Each virtual session allows campers to engage with the works of art and learn how to become historians and storytellers.

How to Sign Up
Virtual Camp at Bayou Bend is free—just be sure to register in advance. Offered Monday through Friday, July 20–24 and July 27–31, the program features morning sessions beginning at 10 a.m. and afternoon sessions that begin at 2 p.m. Learn more and register here. Have fun!
