“RBG” Documentary | Virtual Cinema Honors Trailblazing Supreme Court Icon September 23, 2020

Virtual Cinema joins art houses across the country in presenting RBG, the re-released 2018 documentary about the life and legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The movie’s touch is light and its spirit buoyant, but there is no mistaking its seriousness or its passion.
—A.O. Scott, “New York Times”

She was an unlikely pioneer, a diminutive and shy woman, whose soft voice and large glasses hid an intellect and attitude that, as one colleague put it, was ‘tough as nails.’
—Nina Totenberg, NPR

RBG | Hero. Icon. Dissenter.
Watch a special presentation of the Oscar-nominated documentary RBG, re-released as a tribute to the late Justice Ginsburg, who died September 18 at the age of 87. This intimate portrait of the Supreme Court justice chronicles Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s journey to the nation’s highest court and her fierce fight for women’s rights and equality. Filmmakers Julie Cohen and Betsy West also go behind the scenes of Ginsburg’s 25th term, when the legendary justice was 84.

Ginsburg was a pioneering figure in the struggle for women’s equality, a fight she maintained throughout her career. Despite her shy nature and soft voice, Ginsburg became known as “notorious” in some circles for her passionate dissents in landmark cases.

RBG WATCH NOW Your purchase ($6.99) supports the MFAH and also the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, which was founded by Justice Ginsburg in 1972. Bonus: Each ticket includes an interview with the film’s directors, Julie Cohen and Betsy West. SEE THE TRAILER
