Odyssey: Jack Whitten Sculpture, 1963–2017 is the first major exhibition dedicated to sculptures by renowned contemporary artist Jack Whitten. Although Whitten (1939–2018) has long been celebrated for his work as an innovative abstract painter, this presentation reveals an extensive and entirely unknown body of his work.
The exhibition showcases sculptures the artist created in Greece over the course of his five-decade career, along with a selection of his paintings. The sculptures on view are made from a diverse spectrum of materials, including wood, marble, copper, bone, fishing wire, and personal mementos.
